Covid 19 letter 6/3/2020

Dear patients and friends,

This week’s correspondence is not related to Covid 19 but instead has everything to do with my dental team. I previously introduced my dental assisting team Pierre, Felipe and Martha. This time I would like to highlight my dental hygiene team Beth, Theresa, Vanessa and Kat.

Beth as been with us for 6 out of the 8 years since she had become a dental hygienist. Though Beth misses the daily interactions with all her patients during quarantine, she is taking advantage of her time to work her home business, ColorStreet nails, which due to all the closed nail salons, are in high demand!  Beth celebrated her older daughter's graduation from the College of Nursing at Salem State and watched with pride (and worry too!) as she went off to work at Tufts Medical Center in Boston amid the pandemic. Beth has spent time taking long walks with her dog Titan, working in her garden, reading, and catching up with Hulu.

Theresa has been with me for 3 out of the 20 years that she has been practicing dental hygiene. During this pandemic, Theresa planted her first vegetable garden. She usually plants a flower garden but this year she decided to try her other “green thumb” and planted brussel sprouts, snow peas, peppers and tomatoes. What a healthy salad! Also, Theresa spends time taking care of her parents as well hiking with her chocolate lab Coco.

Vanessa has also been with the practice for three years but we only get to see her on Fridays. The other days she practices hygiene in Rhode Island. During the pandemic she remains grateful because this has given her the opportunity to spend more time with her 97 year old grandfather and as well as time to educate herself with many dental webinars. Recently, she and her husband renovated their kitchen and built a stone wall together. She also enjoys her flower and vegetable garden.

And Katherine “Kat” helps us a couple of times a month by offering dental hygiene care during extended hours. Her full time job of more than 15 years is with a periodontist in Brookline. We appreciate her level of experience and her attention to one’s periodontal health. Kat enjoys her relationship with her patients and getting to know what motivates them. At this time she is in Florida visiting her father and enjoying rides in his convertible while listening to The Bee Gees. What a sight!

You and I are so fortunate to have these women as part of my team at Premier Dental Group of Wellesley. Aside from being skilled and caring clinicians they are also enthusiastic oral health educators. Together, we work to make a difference in your oral health care.

We are still in Phase 1 which for dental practices translates to seeing only emergency or likely to become emergency patients. We may be calling some of you to see if you would like to have treatment. We continue safe practices as recommended by the CDC, the DPH, ADA, and the Mass Dental Society. All patients seen are called at least 48 hours after treatment and up until this time none have any Covid19 symptoms.

As always, Dr Wang can be reached by calling our answering service at the office number 781-237-3031. For updates and other content, please check your emails, our website, Facebook, and Instagram page. We are new to Instagram- check it out!

Better together~

Your team at Premier Dental Group of Wellesley
