Cosmetic Dentisry, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, and Periodontics
Dr. Jim Thiel graduated from Marquette University Dental School. He then served in the U.S. Navy, in the Fleet Marines. After military service he moved to Massachusetts where he completed his specialty in Prosthetic and Implant Dentistry from Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry.
Dr. Thiel has served as chair of the Metropolitan District Dental Society; Trustee, Officer & Treasurer of the Mass. State Dental Society; Chair & Treasurer of the various organizational committees of the Yankee Dental Congress - a 25,000 person annual, regional, educational and scientific meeting. The largest of its type in Boston. He remains active in these and his specialty organizations as well. Dr. Thiel is also a fellow of the honorary American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists.
He has served as teacher & lecturer locally, nationally and abroad in his specialty field of prosthodontics. He has also served as trustee of Boston University School of Dentistry as well as the alumni association of Boston University Dental School and Marquette Dental School.
Family, golf, geneology and stamp collecting keep Dr. Thiel busy when out of the office. His wife Mary has been at his side both in the office and at home over the practice years.
Dr. Tina Wang graduated from Bowdoin College in 1982, and four years later received her D.M.D. Degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She remained at Tufts as an Assistant Clinical Professor for another six years and in 1989, joined the practice with Drs. Thiel and Rubin.
As a top female dentist in Wellesley, Dr. Wang remains active in the Mass. Dental Society and serves as Co-Chair on multiple committees of the Yankee Dental Congress. She is also on the Steering/Advisory Committee which drives the 25,000 person educational and scientific meeting held annually here in Boston. She is currently a member of the Metropolitan District Dental Society peer review committee. This district is the largest in the state.
Outside the practice, Dr. Wang and her husband Chris are managing the active lives of their three children.
Dr. Nitin Khankari is currently as assistant professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and a member of the faculty practice at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and has been for the past 8 years. Dr. Khankari is a Board Certified Prosthodontist and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Prosthodontics. Dr. Khankari received his D.M.D. from Tufts University School of Dental medicine. He earned both a certificate of advanced graduate study in Prosthodontics and a Master of Science degree from Marquette University, Milwaukee. He was also awarded a scholarship from the International Team for Oral Implantology to pursue a one-year certificate program in Implant Dentistry from Harvard University School of Dental Medicine, which brought him to Massachusetts.
Dr. Khankari has joined our practice on Fridays. He is trained in placing and teaching implant prosthetics and is providing this service here as well. In the time Dr. Khankari has been with us, patients describe him as gentle, thorough, knowledgeable and kind. We are certain you will agree. Dr. Khankari and his wife are proud parents of their twin boys.
Dr. Zachary Kano is an Endodontist, specializing in root canals, root canal therapy & treatment. His extensive education in specialized dentistry includes C.A.G.S. Endodontics, Boston University School of Dental Medicine (2008), F.O.M.S. Boston University, Boston Medical Center (1998), G.P.R. State University of New York, Kings County Hospital (1997), and D.M.D. Boston University School of Dental Medicine (1996).
Dr. Jeffery Damon is a Board Certified Prosthodontist who received both his specialty training in Prosthodontics (2012) and DMD degree (2009) from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Since completing his DMD he has been practicing privately in the Boston area. Dr. Damon is also a clinical instructor in the postgraduate Prosthodontics department at Tufts.
Dr. Damon is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontics, the Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society and the local chapter of the American College of Prosthodontics.
Prior to dental school, Dr. Damon graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and conducted cancer research at Umass Medical School. He grew up in Connecticut, but has been living in MA since 1995 and considers himself a “local.”
Dr. Damon joined our practice on Mondays and Thursdays. He is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of esthetic and reconstructive dentistry, including crowns, veneers, implants, dentures, and full mouth rehabilitations. Dr. Damon is known for his patience and caring personality that helps his patients through their dental visits.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Damon enjoys spending time with his family, is an avid Boston sports fan, car fanatic, and reef aquarium enthusiast.
Dr. Robert Cipriano is a periodontist, specializing in the treatment of gum diseases. He is a graduate of Columbia University School of Dental Medicine and Oral Surgery. Dr. Cipriano completed general practice residency at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, New York and received his post graduate periodontal training at Boston University. He has practiced dentistry in the Boston area for over 29 years and has taught as a clinical instructor at Harvard Dental School. Dr. Cipriano has over 26 years treating periodontal conditions and over 20 years experience placing dental implants. Dr. Cipriano enjoys road biking and running and recently ran 2 hrs. and 40 min. in the 2014 Boston Marathon.
