June 10

Dear Patients and Friends,

It's time for another conversation and I am happy to have it.  It has been a full year since we have reopened (wow!) and I believe we are all in a better place.  We can celebrate! We can breathe and we can see the smiles of our family and friends.  The PPE shortage has eased and more and more patients are taking care of their oral health.  And welcome back to those who waited to be fully vaccinated.

As we all know, effective May 29, 2021, the state's mask order was rescinded.  The Department of Public Health has issued a new mask advisory consistent with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's updated guidance.  Masks, however, are still mandatory for all individuals on public or private transportation systems, in healthcare facilities, and in other settings hosting vulnerable populations, such as congregate care settings.

Unfortunately, this means anyone entering any dental practice is still required to wear a mask, vaccinated or not.  We are also required to continue to screen our patients as well as to continue to monitor ourselves with daily screening questions and taking each team member's temperature.  Yes, it is annoying for all to have to continue to screen.  However, we are not at herd immunity yet.  Also, there has been and uptick in Covid19 cases and new strains of the virus are making inroads so we must be super diligent and to take all precautions to remain safe.  I am grateful that the following such practices have kept my team safe as well as all of you.  So...to make a very long story short, PLEASE wear your mask when entering the office.

On another note, Dr. Robert Cipriano will no longer be practicing periodontics with us as he will be spending more time in his other office.  We wish him the very best and hope that he stays safe on his bike and meets his running goals.  At the same time, we would like to introduce Dr. Milagros Serrano to Premier Dental Group of Wellesley.  She will be practicing periodontics in our office every other Friday starting in July.  Dr. Serrano has been practicing periodontics since she graduated from NYU periodontal dental program in 1993 and had been practicing in Boston since 2008.  I feel very fortunate that she has the compassion and experience to take care of our patients and their specific needs.  Her passion outside of periodontics is running.  She is currently registered to run in the London, Tokyo and NY marathons.  Dr. Serrano Strong!!

Other introductions include Lina Vanegas, CDA and Shannon Whalen, RDH.  Lina is a registered dental assistant as well as our social media consultant.  She studied communications and journalism in Colombia and digital marketing is her passion.  Visit our Facebook page to see some of her work.  Outside of work she likes to read and exercise.  Shannon graduated from the Bristol Community College dental hygiene program in 2019.  She loves helping patients to keep a healthy smile and you can sense her compassion when you meet her.  Outside of dental hygiene, she enjoys being with her dog and friends.  Welcome Lina and Shannon!

To end, please know that we are all grateful for your vote of confidence and letting us take care of you.  Our hope is that we do make a difference in your oral health.  Your trust in us especially during this very difficult time is appreciated.

Stay Safe!

Dr. Tina Wang and your friends at Premier Dental Group of Wellesley
